107th Canada Express Entry draw-IRCC sets new ITA record

The Canadian Government has set a new Express Entry record for issuing the largest number of invitations in a year. IRCC now has a record after holding the held December 19th draw where 3,900 ITAs were issued to seek Canadian permanent residence.

After issuing these ITAs the total invitations issued in the present year stand at to 89,800. In 2017 the figures were 86,023 ITAs.

Modalities of the draw

IRCC also applied the tie-break mechanism in this draw where the CRS score was just 439. This gives the eligibility to all candidates having the scores of and above 439 who submitted their EE profiles prior to Feb 6th, 2018, at 19:31:37 UTC.

Overseas nationals need to meet the eligibility criteria for an economic immigration program supervised by the EE system. These are the Federal Skilled Trades Class, Federal Skilled Worker Class and finally the Canadian Experience Class. All Eligible candidates enter the pool and also get a CRS score from 1,200 points. These are based on language proficiency, education, and work experience. IRCC conducts periodic draws, and also invites the top ranking candidates of the pool.

The candidates receiving the Invitations get 60 days for submitting a completed application seeking permanent residence in Canada.

• The date of the First draw was  March 14th, 2015
• Minimum CRS points necessary for selection in the F.S.T.C were 199 on May 26, 2017
• Minimum CRS points necessary for selection in the F.S.W.C were 413 on May 31, 2017
• Minimum CRS points necessary for selection in the C.E.C were 413 on May 31, 2017
• Largest invitations to apply issued were 3,923 on April 12, 2017
• Total number of I.T.As issued in 2015 was 31,063, and in 2016: 33,782, in 2017: 86,023 and so far in 2018: 89,800
• ITAs issued since the launch of the system stand at 240,668
