Ontario Tech Draw details
The focus was on candidates who submitted an Express Entryprofile between Aug 1st, 2018, and Aug 1st, 2019. Ontario Tech Draw targeted technology professionals in July 2019 and issued 3,396 Notifications of Interest totally in favor of the Express Entry candidates.
There is a flourishing tech sector in Ontario and it has tech hubs like Toronto, Waterloo and Ottawa in it. The tech draws, conducted by using Human Capital Priorities Stream, have the aim of catering to the demand of provincial tech workers. The 2019 CBRE Report speaks of creating 80,000 tech jobs in Toronto during the past five years and this is a welcome development for Canada immigration.
Ontario searches the federal pool and selects candidates. The first step in the Ontario Tech Draw is to creating the Express Entryprofile. Candidates must have work experience in any of these occupations:
Software Engineers and Designers (NOC 2173)
Interactive Media Developers and Computer Programmers (NOC 2174)
Computer Engineers (NOC 2147)
Web developers and designers (NOC 2175)
Database administrators and data analysts (NOC 2172)
Managers for Computer Systems and Information Systems Managers (NOC 0213)
Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program Tech draws do not require the candidates to obtain job offer for consideration.
The PNPs like OINP present a chance for professionals who have a low CRS score to reach Canada. The minimum CRS score is generally lower to get invitation.
